Online Info Session: An advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) to improve acceptance of electric vehicles
Today’s electric vehicles provide a reduced driving range compared to classical internal combustion engine propelled vehicles. In combination with a limited number of fast charging stations and the typical uncertainty concerning the upcoming traffic situation, customers feel unconfident if they would be able to reach their destination. The resulting range anxiety reduces the acceptance of electric vehicles.
The speech presents scientific approaches for an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) which significantly improves the precision of a driving range prediction and consequently allows a much more reliable trip planning.
Adam Thór Thorgeirsson (MSc.) - Doctorial Candidate of Prof. Gauterin (KIT) and Porsche AG, explains in this online info session how a comprehensive and deep understanding of systems, methods and processes to manage complexity in vehicle development lead to improved vehicle functionalities. In the part-time master's program, engineers and mechanical engineers who already have professional experience are taught various technological approaches. The additional management knowledge enables the efficient transfer of the new expertise into the company and the successful management of projects and teams.
