Excellence

KIT has been successful in the Excellence Strategy of the federal and state governments again, reaffirming its status as one of Germany’s ten Universities of Excellence. Key factors in this achievement include its successes as a University of Excellence in recent years, its compelling strategic plans for the future, and its clear vision of “Science for Impact.” 

KIT intends to use the funding it receives to further strengthen the three pillars of its vision

• shaping the future,
• advancing science and innovation, and
• fostering talent,

and to support them through targeted measures.

A precondition for applying for the title of University of Excellence was the successful acquisition of funding for at least two Clusters of Excellence. KIT met this requirement with the clusters “3D Matter Made to Order” and “Post Lithium Storage.”
