In the ranking of “Digital Leaders in Higher Education” published recently by “Times Higher Education“ (THE), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) reaches 21st place. In Europe, KIT finishes 6th and in Germany 4th. The ranking lists the universities that are top in digital and technological higher education and prepare their students optimally for executive tasks in the digital sector.

University graduates with digital and technological skills are in high demand. For students, however, it is not easy to find out which universities have a good reputation in certain areas, where they are offered best higher education, and where they can acquire not only scientific and technological skills, but also the knowledge required for starting an own business, for instance.

The “Digital Leaders” ranking was compiled by Emerging, a French consulting company, and published exclusively by the Times Higher Education magazine. Emerging analyzed about 75000 CVs of influential executives of digital companies and interviewed about 3500 IT officers, young entrepreneurs, and junior IT staff.

The global “Digital Leaders” ranking lists the 200 best universities worldwide in the following five categories:

•    Best university in computer sciences
•    Best universities in data sciences
•    Best online degree programs
•    Best digital entrepreneurship programs
•    Best business school for digital transformation
