KIT Attracts International Early-career Researchers
At the end of August, the German Academic International Network (GAIN) brought together early-career researchers and representatives from Germany’s science, politics, and business sectors at a conference held in Boston. The GAIN conference is the largest platform outside Europe for promoting international scientific careers in Germany. A delegation from KIT also attended the event.
During a networking meeting hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Professor Jan S. Hesthaven, President of KIT, introduced KIT to early-career researchers from top-ranking universities and represented the institution at a reception organized by the Helmholtz Association. On behalf of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg, he welcomed attendees to an evening event hosted by the state. “We aim to further open ourselves internationally, attract talent from around the world, and ensure that these researchers remain with us in the long term,” said Hesthaven. “To achieve this, it is essential to showcase KIT’s strengths to international early-career researchers and demonstrate why they should choose KIT – a compelling research environment with a diverse and inclusive community.”
