Knowledge and acting: Lead-managed by KIT, the “Transformation Center for Sustainable Futures and Cultural Change” (KAT) will be established in Karlsruhe in the next two years. Here, potential transitions to sustainable ways of life and business will be developed, studied, and tested in close dialog with citizens and other actors of society. The transformation center plans to continue already started real-world lab activities, to enlarge the spectrum of tasks, and to complement the portfolio by education, advising, and transdisciplinary fundamental research activities. The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts will fund the conception and development of KAT with EUR 480,000.
