Guests of a restaurant in Karlsruhe that offers a running sushi buffet were also presented snacks of scientific knowledge this year. Along with the menu, they were offered popular science presentations relating to seas and oceans. Where does the fish on the plate come from, was it caught with sustainable methods? What will future food be like? This project of the Department of Science Communication at Institute for German Studies at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) has now been proclaimed one of three winners of a university competition for understandable science communication launched by “Wissenschaft im Dialog” (Science in Dialogue) on the occasion of the 2016*17 science year. The award ceremony took place on September 22, 2017 in Berlin. The university competition is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
