KIT Wraps Up Anniversary Year with First-Ever Christmas Market

On December 9, 2025, KIT will host its first Christmas market on the South Campus – featuring handmade items, AI-generated art, and a festive stage program

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is concluding its anniversary year with a special celebration: On December 9, 2025, the first-ever KIT Christmas market will take place at Ehrenhof at South Campus. Starting at 12 noon, visitors can enjoy a wide-ranging program for the whole family, including creative booths and a vibrant stage program. The market is open to the public and encourages guests to stay, explore, and get involved.

A Showcase of Creativity at the Ehrenhof

Around ten booths will be set up by KIT employees and students. Alongside traditional Christmas market goods such as decorations, woolen hats, candles, and soaps, visitors will also find contemporary interpretations – including 3D-printed artworks and objects designed with the help of artificial intelligence.

The exhibitors come from diverse backgrounds: some are seasoned market participants, while others are presenting their creations to a wider audience for the first time. The stage program will feature music, dance, and festive talks – all organized by members of KIT. Highlights include alphorn music and a unique performance blending ballet with LED light art.
