KIT COMMputation Focus Introduces Itself

KIT at the City Hall: Presentations and Exhibition on Information Processing and Communication in Concepts of Intelligent Networked Systems

Use of high-performance information processing is increasing in both professional and private sectors. Communication among various networked systems is playing a crucial role. These are the topics covered by the KIT COMMputation Focus (COMMunication and COMMputation) that will introduce itself to the public on Tuesday, January 19, 18.30 hrs, at the Bürgersaal of the city hall of Karlsruhe.

The KIT COMMputation Focus concentrates on the challenges resulting from the inseparable linking of communication and information processing tasks (communication and computation) in complex technical systems that are increasingly applied in our life and work. The artificial term COMMputation reflects this relationship.

Combining the interdisciplinary competencies of KIT scientists, the COMMputation Focus deals with concepts, architectures, methods, tools, and selected applications of information processing and communication in order to guarantee the manageability of complex technical systems and their trustworthy, robust, and efficient behavior.

Citizens and in particular pupils are cordially invited to attend this event. A reception will give the audience the opportunity for discussions.

Program:
Welcome Addresses
Heinz Fenrich, Lord Mayor of the city of Karlsruhe
Professor Horst Hippler, President of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)
The KIT COMMputation Focus Introduces Itself
Professor Hartmut Schmeck, Scientific Spokesperson of COMMputation, Institute for Applied Information Science and Formal Description Methods (AIFB)
