Open Day at KIT

Open Day

The Open Day is a science festival for the public and marks the start of the Karlsruhe science festival “EFFEKTE.” Under the slogan “Effektvoll am KIT” (Effects at KIT), KIT presents experiments and laboratories every two years. Young and old are invited to join numerous activities, such as guided tours or a research rally for kids, to attend presentations, and to watch an entertaining stage program.

KIT Science Week

KIT Science Week

The KIT Science Week combines an international scientific conference with public events on technological mega trends. Keynote presentations, TEDxKIT talks, panel discussions, exhibitions, a citizens’ dialog, or guided tours will give persons interested in science and culture insight into various research activities.

Welcome Event for Beginning Students

As a tradition, the Executive Board of KIT, AStA, and the City of Karlsruhe welcome beginning students of KIT at a special event. The entertaining program includes welcome addresses, shows of comedians, a quiz, and music played by the big band of KIT. Afterwards, the new students are given the opportunity to meet professors and to familiarize with the services of the business units of KIT.

Every year, KIT presents the latest technologies and spin-offs of its students, scientific employees, and professors at the Innovation Day NEULAND – a meeting platform for everyone interested in the topics of innovation, technology transfer, and business start-ups at KIT.
