Mariana Bozesan
Mariana Bozesan studied computer science at the Universität Karlsruhe from 1979 to 1987. She is co-founder and general manager of AQAL GmbH, author, president of the AQAL Foundation and on the boards of companies and various organizations committed to sustainability. As a business angel, she invests in sustainable start-ups and is a full member of the Club of Rome.
Xiaoqun Clever
Xiaoqun Clever studied computer science at the Universität Karlsruhe from 1993 to 1997. After holding positions as Chief Technology and Data Officer as well as member of the executive board of the international media company Ringier, she is now a member of the executive board or supervisory board of various internationally active companies.
Alexander Gerst
Alexander Gerst studied at the Institute of Geophysics at the University of Karlsruhe and graduated in 2003. As a European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut, he spent six months on the International Space Station ISS in 2014 and 2018. In October 2018, Gerst became the first German to assume the role of the International Space Station Commander. The KIT Departments of Physics and Civil Engineering, Geo- and Environmental Sciences awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2019.
Heike Hanagarth
Heike Hanagarth holds a doctorate in engineering. She studied and received her doctorate in mechanical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe from 1978 to 1989. She was a member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Bahn AG and DB Mobility Logistics AG and Head of Engine Production at the BMW plant in Munich. In February 2015, she was appointed to the High-Tech Forum's expert committee for the implementation and further development of the German government's high-tech strategy. On July 1, 2016, she was appointed to the Supervisory Board of Lanxess AG.
Dietmar Hopp
Dietmar Hopp is co-founder of SAP AG and served as its CEO until 1998. He earned a degree in communications engineering from the University of Karlsruhe in 1966. Today, he is primarily active as an investor, charitable donor, and patron.
Roland Mack
Roland Mack is co-founder and managing partner of Europa-Park Rust. He began studying mechanical engineering at the Fridericiana in 1969 and earned his degree in 1974. For his entrepreneurial achievements and exceptional committment, he received numerous awards.
Hasso Plattner
Der SAP-Mitbegründer und ehemalige Vorstandsvorsitzende des Softwareunternehmens (bis 2003) ist heute Vorsitzender des SAP-Aufsichtsrates. 1963 begann Hasso Plattner ein Studium der Nachrichtentechnik an der Universität Karlsruhe, das er 1968 als Diplomingenieur abschloss. Die KIT-Fakultät für Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik verlieh Plattner 2020 die Ehrendoktorwürde.
Carsten Spohr
Carsten Spohr graduated from the KIT department of Economics and Management at the University of Karlsruhe in 1991. Between 1994 and 2014, the industrial engineer held several management positions at Deutsche Lufthansa; on May 1, 2014, Spohr took over as Chief Executive Officer. He is also a member of the Senate of acatech - the German Academy of Science and Engineering.
Stefan Quandt
Der Wirtschaftsingenieur, Mitglied der gleichnamigen deutschen Unternehmerfamilie und stellvertretender Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender der BMW AG, erwarb 1993 sein Diplom an der Universität Karlsruhe. Der Unternehmer gehörte zeitweilig dem Universitätsrat an. Seit 1. Oktober 2009 ist er Mitglied des KIT-Aufsichtsrats.
Dieter Zetsche
Dieter Zetsche war seit 1998 Vorstandsmitglied der Daimler AG, deren Vorsitzender er von 2006 bis 2019 war. Von 1971 bis 1976 studierte er an der Fridericiana Elektrotechnik und schloss als Diplomingenieur ab. Von 1. Oktober 2009 bis 30. September 2019 gehörte er dem Aufsichtsrat des KIT an.
