On October 15, the “2009/2010 Women in Executive Positions” (FiF) contact study course started at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). It is addressed to women on the move into executive positions or wanting to enhance their leadership competence. Personnel development – kww organized the 16th part of the in-career education series. The team introduced its approach at a presentation on May 4.

“The objective of this course is to discover the executive personality in a woman and promote it individually,” says Anke Diez, head of Personnel Development – kww. Over a period of seven months, the contact study course offers specialized practical know-how in executive topics. FiF consists of seven modules of two days each. Here is the range of subjects treated: leadership competence; presentation; leading in a team; management of conflicts and projects; processes of change; process management; and diversity management. For this knowledge to be transferred into one’s specialized area of work, says Diez, “also the accompanying offerings by coaching play an important role for each individual participant as well as in a small group and in learning partnerships.”

An information event organized on May 4 allowed interested persons to meet the team of teachers, process consultants, and personnel developers from university and from industry who will coach participants for their executive positions. This introductory event will be followed by a workshop on the subject of “Self-marketing of Smart Women.”
