Prof. Dr Johannes Orphal has been Full Professor and Head of Institute at KIT since 2009, and Head of Division 4 since 2020. He has significantly structured and developed atmospheric, climate and environmental research at KIT. In particular, he was Scientific Spokesperson of the KIT Climate and Environment Center in 2010-2015, Scientific Spokesperson of the Helmholtz Research Program “Earth and Environment” in 2012-2020, and Presidential Commissioner for Climate Protection and Sustainability at KIT in 2020-2022.
