Encoding techniques have decided wars and have influenced various love affairs – today, they make online shopping possible. “Kryptologicum“, an exhibition initiated by KIT’s Competence Center for Applied Security Technology (KASTEL), wants to introduce visitors to the principles of cryptography (which is derived from the Greek words kryptos meaning “hidden” and graphein meaning ”to write“). The exhibition takes place from February 1 to February 3, 2013 at ZKM I Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie (Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe).
