Which advantages does electromobility have compared to its alternatives? What is its benefit for the environment? And what do the utilities and oil companies think? Questions like these will be discussed during the two-day industry and technology forum “talKIT: E-volution – The future of mobility?” on May 04 and 05 at the Audimax, KIT Campus South. The forum will take place under the auspices of the Federal Minister of the Environment, Dr. Norbert Röttgen, and Tanja Gönner, Minister of the Environment, Nature Protection, and Transport of the State of Baden-Württemberg.

talKIT is an industry and technology forum established by KIT students, which meets annually to discuss socially relevant topics and trends at the interface of industry and technology. On May 4 and 5, experts from industry, science, and politics will focus on (electro)mobility and present new approaches. KIT President Horst Hippler will welcome the participants on Wednesday, May 04, 9 hrs, at the Audimax on Campus South (building 30.95, Straße am Forum 1). The introductory presentation will then be given by State Secretary Ursula Heinen-Esser as a sub for the Federal Minister of the Environment, Dr. Norbert Röttgen. Presentations by Dr. Peter Blauwhoff, CEO Shell Germany, and Lars Thomsen, founder of the Future Matters AG, will follow. The program will also include workshops for students as well as a fireside chat at the Karlsruhe Palace (for workshop participants only).

The second day will start with six short presentations, followed by a podium discussion: Discussion partners will be Dr. Thomas Weber, Member of the Board of the Daimler AG, Rainer Bomba, State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transportation and member of the “National Electromobility Platform” Advisory Council of the Federal Government, Hans-Peter Villis, CEO of EnBW AG, and Dr. Joachim Fetzer, Executive Vice President of SB LiMotive.

Parallel to the event, a technology and career fair will take place in the entrance hall of the Audimax on both days. The interested public is expressly invited to attend talKIT. Kindly register in advance.
