All beginnings are difficult, especially when working on the future of an own idea. When turning new ideas into enterprises, the new web portal www.gruenden.kit.edu of the KIT start-up network provide support. Students, employees, founders, investors, and other persons interested now have a first contact point at KIT for all questions concerning the founding of new enterprises.

Technology-oriented and knowledge-based start-ups are considered a highly promising type of technology and knowledge transfer from university to industry. “They combine the scientific use of research results with positive growth and job stimuli that influence the dynamics of the respective branch and the region,” says the start-up coach Dr. Rolf Blattner from the KIT Innovation Management Service Unit.

The various complex requirements of student and scientific founders and investors are met by various organizations at KIT and in the region, which have a variety of competencies. 13 network partners have joined to facilitate access to information, counseling, and funding for persons interested in founding new enterprises.

With the KIT start-up coaches from the Innovation Management Service Unit (IMA) and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), four direct contact partners can be reached via the portal. It addresses all founders or persons interested in founding new enterprises at and outside of KIT. The network offers advice on funding, legal support, as well as the procurement of investors and participation. In addition, information about the founding of enterprises is supplied and counseling days for students, employees, founders, and investors are organized by the network partners.
