With a background in fine arts Baker uses art and imagery to communicate the benefits associated with nuclear energy. From reducing our carbon emissions to reducing proliferation risks, nuclear energy technologies and professionals have an important role to play in solving some of our world's biggest challenges. Baker will explore ways to overcome the communications challenges associated with the advancement of nuclear technologies using visual arts, social media and collaborative thinking.
Baker has worked with many groups including the American Nuclear Society, the Idaho National Laboratory, Women in Nuclear and the International Nuclear Youth Congress, all of whom have helped support and facili-tate the development of her unique approach to public education and outreach. Baker finds that talking directly with nuclear scientists, researchers and professionals is the best way to understand the technology, and allows her to share their important perspective and message with the broader public. Her work has been recognized with a National Public Radio E-chievement Award and a TedX talk, and featured by major media outlets including the Financial Times and CNN.
