Good Scientific Practice

The KIT has adopted rules for safeguarding good scientific practice. The rules are based on a longtime practice of the precursory institutions of the KIT, the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe and the University of Karlsruhe, and on  standards of quality assurance. The rules follow primarily the proposals for safeguarding good scientific practice of the German Research Foundation and the Helmholtz Association as well as recommendations of further institutions in the science or university sector.

Ombudspersons

Two ombudsmen act as contact persons for the employees of the KIT. As persons of trust they advise those, who inform them about supposed cases of scientific misconduct. Also persons suspected of misconduct may adress the responsible ombudsperson. The KIT senat appointed Professor Heinz Kalt and Professor Johannes Orphal as ombudspersons.
