This Competence Field deals with numerical methods for computater-based simulations, providing engineering solutions using high-performance computing, and in particular with the innovative area of Grid Computing. The activities include fundamentals, methods and environments for high-performance computing, and the development and validation of new procedures for Cluster- and Grid-Computing for local, national and international demands.
