
This Competence Field pursues deeper understanding about the very early Universe, the nature of fundamental structures of matter and forces, and about the highest energy phenomena in the present Universe. These questions are pursued in the areas of collider physics, flavour physics, pertubative and nonpertubative field theories, neutrino physics, cosmic ray physics, and in the search for dark matter. To prepare and carry out this research, the Competence Field engages in developments of high resolution particle detectors, reconstruction algorithms, and computing.
