Promotion of Young Scientists at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)

A higher quality of education – this is an objective of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. To reach this objective, the KIT does not only offer an excellent work environment to the young scientists. On their way to the doctorate, individual mentoring and advanced training services are provided. To complement education and training at the institutes and faculties, the following new institutions have been established:
 

• Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists (KHYS)
  KHYS is the central communication and interaction platform for the specific promotion of all PhD students and post-docs at the KIT.
   
• Karlsruhe School of Optics and Photonics (KSOP)
  The KSOP trains master and PhD students from various faculties in the field of optical technology. Management skills may be acquired.
   
• House of Competence (HoC)
  The HoC aims at conveying key qualifications to strengthen social and cultural competences as well as the performance of students, scientists, and staff of the KIT.
   
• Young Investigator Network (YIN)
  The YIN represents the interests of young scientists at the KIT. YIN networks young investigators and promotes their personal further development.
